iO Academy win Commitment to Diversity Award
iO Academy is proud to have won the Commitment to Diversity Award at the Tech South West Awards last night. The awards were held online and celebrated the best of tech in the South West, with over 200 tech leaders, educators, innovators and key business figures from across the region joining the celebrations.
The Tech South West Awards cover the whole region, from the Isles of Scilly to Gloucester. They recognise and celebrate talent, creativity, business success, education, leadership and diversity in the local tech industry.
2020 has been a big year for iO, including a rapid change to remote learning, a huge rebrand to make the Academy more accessible and inclusive, and achieving an equal gender split of students. We are delighted to be recognised as diversity leaders in the region, and plan to keep doing everything we can to make the tech industry more inclusive for all.
Congratulations also to iO Academy hiring partners Rocketmakers, who won the Best Tech Workplace Award.
Other award winners included Rovco for the Innovation, Tech Entrepreneur of the Year and Tech Company of the Year (revenue over £5m) awards, Codices for Best Start Up, Amdaris for Best Scale Up, Neighbourly for Sustainable Tech and Best Tech Company of the Year (revenue under £5m), and Sparkol for International Success.
iO Academy (then Mayden Academy) were winners of the Bristol & Bath Cluster Award in 2019, this year won by Bristol software agency Amdaris.
